Algelume

This project has been developed together with students from the Jönköping International Business School during the last semester of the first year of Product Design Master. The main idea was to use the algae qualities to purify air and convert a water container with algae into an air purifier. We were asked to create a product that integrates this together with an ambient lamp. So, we designed a table lamp for interior spaces with cozy lighting and that decreases the level of CO2 thanks to the algae. Our design was inspired by nature. We wanted to play with the light going through the green water as well as between wooden sticks. We also built a full-size prototype with a functional light and water pump to stir the water.
